Workplace Learning & Performance (WLP) has partnered with SkillSoft to provide 24/7, online, self-paced learning to Penn State employees. SkillPort is the name of the Learning Management System (LMS) that SkillSoft uses to host the online training. Users must visit psuohrlearning.skillport.com to access the online training.
Accessing and Using SkillPort
All Penn State employees now have access to the entire library of Business Skills Courseware from Skillsoft. This professional development opportunity allows employees 24/7 online, self-paced training that helps employees to achieve their unit and personal professional development strategic priorities. Simply visit Skillport and log in using your Penn State Access Account (WebAccess) credentials. From there, select Business Skills Course List to see the available training options.
Available topics include: Business Grammar, Listening, Presentation Skills, Business Etiquette, Planning and Prioritizing, Peer Relationships, Decisiveness, Fundamentals of Working with Difficult People, and Critical Thinking. Benefits of completing these Business Skills courses include:

The Reporting Child Abuse training has been specifically designed for Penn State employees and Authorized Adults to ensure they understand policies/laws, their responsibilities around reporting, and reporting protocol. The online training program, Reporting Child Abuse, is available to all Penn State employees at psuohrlearning.skillport.com.
Under policy AD72, all Penn State employees are required to complete the training each calendar year. It is important, once the training has been completed, that employees retain a copy of the Certificate of Completion. Employees classified as an Authorized Adult under policy AD39 must complete the training prior to working with minors, as well as complete a background check. Employees who are not classified as Authorized Adults can take the training any time throughout the calendar year (2013) and must recertify each year.
