Overview of Coverage - AD&D

You may choose a coverage amount ranging from $10,000 to $300,000. Coverage is available regardless of your health history.

If you choose to extend AD&D coverage to your spouse and eligible dependent children, the amount of insurance that will be applicable to your family is a percentage of the amount you select for yourself.

Children are covered up to age 26.

The chart below shows how AD&D benefits are paid for losses suffered within 365 days of a covered accident.

Receiving Your Benefit
For Loss of: % of Principle Paid:
Life 100%
Both hands, both feet, both eyes, or any combination 100%
Speech & Hearing 100%
One hand, one foot, one eye 50%
Speech or Hearing 50%
Thumb and index finger of the same hand 25%

If a covered injury results in the loss of your life and/or that of your covered dependent, the applicable principal sum will be payable, less any amount that may previously have been paid due to dismemberment.

In the event that you and your insured spouse both suffer loss of life due to an injury sustained in the same accident, the principal sum payable for your spouse's loss of life will be equal to your principal sum. The benefit payable for both you and your spouse may not exceed $600,000. Both losses must occur within 90 days of the date of the accident for this benefit provision to be applicable.
